| Welcome to the
LuangSay Cruise aboard the Pak Ou, a unique and exciting
way of discovering the delights of Northern Laos in
style, safety and comfort.Featuring a brand new river
cruise boat and a Laotian style lodge on the banks of
the Mekong, the LuangSay Cruise offers the intrepid
traveler two idyllic days and one night on the Mother
of Waters.
It's a chance to visit a region that has hitherto been
virtually inaccessible. The route is on a stretch of
the Mekong between HoueiSay and the world heritage site
of Luang Prabang, the former royal capital of Laos and
one of the best preserved ancient cities in Asia.

1 : De Houay Say à Luang Prabang / From HoueiSay to Luang
Prabang

1 : de HOUAY SAY - PAKBENG (Déjeuner,
dîner) Stop au LuangSay Lodge
Départ du bateau vers 9h du matin pour la
descente du Mékong vers Pakbeng. Un arrêt
est prévu dans l'un des villages qui longent
le fleuve. Rencontre des villageois et des populations
multiéthniques de la région. Le Déjeuner
est servi à bord. Arrivée à Pakbeng
avant le coucher du soleil qui pourra être observé
depuis la terrasse du Lodge LuangSay.

1: HOUEISAY - PAKBENG (Lunch, Dinner)
 LuangSay
boat leaves HoueiSay pier at 09:00 hrs for a cruise
down the Mekong to Pakbeng. En route one stop is made
to observe rural life along the Mekong and discover
minorities, a buffet lunch on board. Arrive Pakbeng
before sunset and check-in at LuangSay Lodge. Dinner
on the terrace, overlooking the Mekong River.

2 : de PAKBENG à PAK OU puis LUANG PRABANG (Petit
déjeuner, déjeuner)
Petit déjeuner à LuangSay
Lodge. En option, promenade dans les environs, visite
du marché de Pakbeng. Départ du bateau
vers 8h30 pour la seconde étape de cette croisière
sur le Mékong. Visite d'un village Hmong, puis
déjeuner sur le pont. Visite des grottes de Pak
Ou, situées au confluent de la Nam Ou et du Mékong.
La grotte "aux milliers de Bouddha" et de
"Tam Ting". Arrêt dans un village spécialisé
dans la fabrication del'alcool de riz, "laolao".
Poursuite de la croisière vers Luang Prabang,
ville classée Patrimoine mondial et ancienne
capitale du pays. Arrivée à Luang Prabang
à l'heure du coucher du soleil. |

Day 2: PAKBENG - PAK
OU - LUANG PRABANG (Breakfast, Lunch)
 Full
breakfast at lodge. (Optional: walk to Pakbeng market,
where people from the surrounding village of minorities
exchange their goods). At 08:30 board the boat for
the second leg of the cruise. A short stop to discover
a Hmong village before having buffet lunch on board.
Continue to Pak-Ou village at the mouth of the Nam
Ou River, visit Tam Ting "Caves of a thousand
Buddha's". On the way to Luang Prabang a brief
stop is made to observe the traditional process of
obtaining local rice alcohol. Arrive at Luang Prabang
before sunset.

2 : De Luang Prabang à HouaiSay / FromLuang Prabang to
Houeisay

1 : LUANG PRABANG - PAK OU - PAKBENG (Déjeuner
et dîner)
 Départ
du bateau à 7h30 pour une croisière le
long du Mékong, de Luang Prabang à Pak
Beng. Visite des grottes de Pak Ou, des grottes de Tam
Ting ou de la grotte "aux milliers de Bouddha".
Stop dans un village spécialisé dans la
distillation du "laolao", l'alcool de riz
laotien. Buffet à bord, sur le pont du bateau
et poursuite du voyage vers le Lodge de LuangSay. Dîner
sur la terrasse du Lodge, dominant le Mékong. |

Your boat leaves Luang Prabang pier at 07:30 hrs
for a cruise up the Mekong to Pakbeng. On the way
to Pak-Ou Village, at the mouth of the Nam Ou River,
a brief stop is made to observe the traditional process
of obtaining local rice alcohol, visit Tam Ting "Caves
of a thousand Buddha's". Have a buffet lunch
on board and continue route to Pak Beng. Arrive at
Pak Beng before sunset and check in at LuangSay Lodge.
Dinner on the terrace, overlooking the Mekong River.

déjeuner sur la terrasse du Resort. Si une promenade
vous tente, visite du marché. Départ à
8h pour la seconde partie du voyage. Arrêt dans
les villages qui longent les rives du Mékong
et rencontre avec les populations de la région.
Déjeuner sur le bateau. Arrivée à
Houay Say avant 17h (transfert possible vers Chiang
Rai)

Day 2: PAKBENG - HOUEISAY
(Breakfast, Lunch)
Full breakfast at lodge. (Optional: walk to Pak Beng
market, where people from the surrounding villages
of minorities exchange their goods). At 08:00 hrs
board the boat for the second leg of the cruise. En
route one stop is made to observe rural life along
the Mekhong and discover minorities, having a buffet
lunch on board and continue to HoueiSay where you
will arrive before 17:00 hrs (you may proceed to Chiang
Rai in the same day.)

TRANSFERT
Entre la THAILANDE et l'embarcadère
de LUANGSAY
L'embarcadère
des croisières LuangSay sont situées nonloin
de la poste frontière de Houeisay, du côté
lao et face à la ville thaïlandaise de Chiang
Khong (province de Chieng Rai).
La traversée du fleuve entre les deux postes
ne prend que 5 minutes avec un bateau régulier.
Chiang Khong est à 2 heures de route de Chiang
Rai ville ou son aéroport, et à 1 heure
de route de Chiang Saen.
Les croisières Luangsay peuvent assurer le service
de transfert dans les deux sens, sur demande et avec
une surcharge. Les transferts comprennent le transport
par la route, et le suivi des bagages et l'assistance
pour les formalités administratives des deux
côtés du Mékong. |

Between THAILAND and
LUANGSAY PIER
LUANGSAY cruises
are start or and from the pier next to the Immigration
checkpoint of Houeisay, at Laos border town on the left
bank of Mekong River. Opposite on the right bank of
Mekong River is Chiang Khong (Chiang Rai Province) the
Thai border town.
Crossing the river from the one checkpoint to the other
takes only 5 minutes by regular shuttle boat. Chiang
Khong is linked by good roads to Chiang Rai town or
airport (2 hours drive) or Chiang Saen (1 hour drive).
Luang Say may arrange individual or group transfers
between Chiang Saen and Houei Say or vice versa at extra
cost; transfers including road transportation, shuttle
boat, porterage of luggage and assistance for immigration
formalities both side of the Mekong. |
